Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies
Brownie batter:
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
1 TBSP red food coloring
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 eggs
3/4 cup flourCream cheese:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanillaPreheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8x8 glass baking dish.
Brownie layer-Put melted butter in a bowl, add sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, salt, food coloring and vinegar. Whisk eggs into mixture. Add in flour until lightly combined. Pour batter into baking dish, saving 1/4 of the batter to add on top of cream cheese layer.Cream cheese layer-Blend together cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla. Spread cream cheese on top of brownie batter. Put remaining brownie batter on top of cream cheese. Using the tip of a knife, swirl the mixture to get a nice pattern. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove to cooling rack to cool completely before cutting.
